Meet the Board of Directors

  • Julie Thompson

Julie is the President and Co-founder of the foundation. Julie met Juan when she signed up her Son Jack for baseball. Over the years Juan became part of the Thompson family. From sleepovers to family vacations, they went from a party of four to a party of five. She witnessed first hand how special and talented Juan was. She claimed him as her own often bragging about his accomplishments. Starting this foundation has given an outlet to turn grief into a purpose, and she hopes to make him proud of her just as she was of him.

  • Omar Morales

Omar is the Vice President and Juan’s first baseball coach where he played with Omar’s Son, Jr. on the Dodgers. They spent time together on and off the field, enjoying Quakes games and other family outings. Omar loved being his coach, and said he was every coach’s dream to have on their team. He instantly recognized the talent and passion Juan had for the game of baseball even at 5 years old. Everyone would agree Juan adored Omar as well, always calling him coach with a big hug and that Hollywood smile every time he would see him.

  • Elizabeth Godoy

Elizabeth is the Treasurer and Mother to Juan. We can all agree she raised an incredible young man that touched countess lives. The Mother and Son bond they displayed is the most special bond someone could have witnessed. Through her stories, she continues to teach us about Juan and his love for his family and friends, in which you can see in the photos and videos treasured by the family. Elizabeth, being extremely courageous, joined the board to continue his legacy, his love of helping kids combined with his love of sports.

  • Anna Merjano

Anna is the Secretary . She is a California native that relocated to the Inland Empire to become a teacher. Anna immediately said yes to the foundation when approached with the idea. Her caring and loving demeanor showed when she joined the board with no hesitation. Being married to a former baseball player, and a host family to a minor league player, she knows the cost and involvement it takes for players to be successful. Wishing she could have met Juan, from stories she’s heard she knows this is a great way to honor him.

  • Jason Merjano

Jason is a co-founder and Director of player Development. He is a former baseball player with an accomplished playing history. After relocating from North Hollywood Jason took over as the coach of the Wolfpack . When Jason was approached about creating the foundation without hesitation, he said “ I wish I had known Juan, but I would be honored to be a part of something so special. Its been dream of mine to help the youth, and teach athletes about the sport of baseball, it’s successes and its failures and how it all connects to life.”

  • Jack Thompson

Jack is a board member and Director of Baseball. Coaching Juan was one of his greatest honors. Juan was his Sons best friend but a kid he considered his own. Traveling to baseball tournaments was his favorite time with Juan. From reviewing the roster and line up, discussing strategies to the inside jokes, from family vacations or a secret word while on the field, the Jacks and Juan trio were the definition of Wolfpack Baseball, a brotherhood . Jack is proud to honor his captain and support the foundation and upcoming athletes.

  • Juan Godoy

Juan is a board member and the Director of Scholarships. As the proud Father of Juanito, you could see the love they had for each other, a special father and Son bond. Juan worked extremely hard to provide for his family and give Juanito the platform to play the game he loved so much. Juanito strived to make his Dad proud with sports and school accomplishments. It was fun to see them laughing with each other through the fence as he was in the on deck circle. He is proud Juanito’s legacy will be carried on through this foundation.
