Our mission

To promote the playing of youth and young adult sports, including providing an organizing structure for team sports, encouraging competitive play, providing scholarships and advocating on behalf of youth and young adult sports.

The Juan Godoy Foundation-The Hollywood Dream Project was created in honor of Juan Godoy to continue his legacy of being the Benny The Jet of the Inland Empire. A kid with a heart of gold, a caring and thoughtful spirit. Those that spent time with Juan can attest to his character and his natural instincts when it came to helping others. As the leader of the Wolfpack he impacted countless teammates and with this foundation we will continue to impact the lives of athletes. As you may be aware the financial responsibility has been put on the parents for their children to be coached and play in competitive sports and high school programs. This could place a financial burden on families, and quite possibly crush the dream of an athlete to be able to be a part of a team and opportunities to a higher education. It is our goal to assist those athletes with the resources necessary to full fill their dreams. If a player displays the ability, desire, drive, commitment, and love for the game, the financial stability of their household should not dictate the access to the proper equipment or to play sports at any level.

The inspiration

The idea of creating the foundation was easy, but finding the “who or what” in the foundations mission was the challenge. That was until our co-founder was watching the movie, Trouble with the curve. It was then she was inspired by the “peanut boy”. Once again reminded how many athletes are not able to pursue their dream because of financial barriers. After a discussion with the Godoy family, it was decided this was a great way to carry on Juan’s legacy. His love for people, and helping others could be carried on through providing for athletes that have a hunger and desire to play competitive high level sports, just like Juan did.
